Everything you need to know before chartering a yacht between Saint-Tropez and Saint-Raphaël

What’s the difference between the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the Estérel?

The Gulf of Saint-Tropez offers a lively atmosphere, with the beaches of Pampelonne, private clubs and coastal villages such as Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime. The Estérel area, between Agay and Saint-Raphaël, is wilder, with red rocks, sheltered coves and deep waters ideal for swimming.

How long does it take to reach the red rocks of the Estérel?

From Saint-Tropez, it generally takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour of sailing to reach the first red rocks of l'Estérel, depending on the boat and conditions. From Saint-Raphaël, access to the Agay coves and calanques is much quicker, sometimes taking less than 20 minutes.

Can we combine Pampelonne and the Estérel red rocks in one day?

Yes, it's possible to combine the Gulf of Saint-Tropez (Pampelonne, the beaches and the village) with a full-day tour of the red rocks of the Esterel. The exact program will depend on your port of departure and whether you wish to spend more time at anchor or underway.

Is this area suitable for families with children?

The area between Saint-Tropez and Saint-Raphaël is very family-friendly: sheltered anchorages, often calm waters in the morning, coves accessible by dinghy and beaches where you can easily disembark. Your skipper chooses the stops according to the weather and the age of the children to ensure a comfortable day.
