Every summer, the bay of Cannes becomes the setting for a unique spectacle. From a boat, the fireworks can be experienced from a privileged angle, amidst calm seas, sunset, and the lights of the Croisette.

Cannes International Festival of Pyrotechnic Art

Watching the Cannes fireworks from the sea is a particularly sought-after experience during the summer on the French Riviera. Several evenings between July and August, the bay of Cannes hosts the famous International Pyrotechnic Art Festival.

Every summer, international teams present their creations as part of this pyrotechnic competition, featuring shows synchronized to music.

For a few minutes, the entire bay of Cannes becomes an open-air stage.

Each performance lasts approximately 25 minutes. The fireworks are launched from barges set up in the bay, generally facing the Croisette and Carlton area, and are visible from both the coastline and the sea.

An evening can thus be integrated into a yacht charter on the French Riviera , with sailing, anchoring and return to the port after the show.

Cannes Fireworks Dates - Summer 2027

The exact dates and official schedule of the Festival International d'Art Pyrotechnique are published every year by the City of Cannes.

The 2027 program will be added here as soon as it is officially published. The evening events traditionally take place during the summer season, between July and August.

The Song of the Ocean

Designed by Mathieu Infanti, Lux Abyssus plunges the spectator into the universe of the ocean and its depths. The creation successively evokes light, the birth of life, the fragility of the marine world, and then the power of the storm, before a more poetic return to the surface.

Musical and pyrotechnic creation

Designed by Johan Hollander, Brume en Feu plays on contrasts. A low-lying mist accompanies the initial sequences before red and golden, then blue and violet compositions. The second part progressively increases in intensity with red, pink, and electric tones.

During the festival evenings, the beaches and the Croisette fill up quickly. The most sought-after viewing points are often occupied several hours before the show.

A boat trip out to sea for fireworks generally starts in the late afternoon from Cannes or Antibes. The program can combine sailing, swimming, sunset, and the show in the bay.

Before returning to Cannes, a navigation to the Lérins Islands makes the most of the late afternoon.
